Hola a todos!
I'm sooo bored today and i messed up with my photoshop till i came up with a new decent icon coloration... And since i was *really* bored i made a tutorial too♥
So, today we will learn how to go from
to
, with Photoshop CS2 or higher.
1.Start off with your base and crop it as you like.
2.Duplicate the base and set it to screen, 73%
3.New Curves layer: Input (76) Output (128)
4.New color layer #0b5d7b. Set it to Colour Burn, 40%
5.New selective colour
Red:
C-38
Y: +100
B: +24
Cyan:
C:+18
Y:+4
Neutral:
B:-20
6.New Hue/Saturation layer
Saturation: +15
Luminosity: -16
7.New Brightness/Contrast layer
Light: +8
Contrast: +8
And it's done! I think it works better with reddish-yellowish pictures.
Other icons made with the same technique:

And, since i know that you are very lazy people (and so am i), here's the .PSD!
